OABGC Storms Their Way To Championship

The Littles and OABGC held the top two seeds heading into bracket play in the Junior Girls division. Kenzy Mosley poured in a game high 10 points to lead OABGC to a hard fought 24-18 victory over The Littles in pool play to help secure the top seed for OABGC. Gemma Bocelli chipped in eight points for OABGC, while Emma Crumbley and Leah Cobb each scored six points to lead the way for The Littles.

From Home Page In the quarterfinals, Green Dream secured a come from behind, 21-19 overtime win against Buckeye Blast to avenge an earlier pool play loss. Braylee Indermuhle led the way for Green Dream with eight points. Morghan Wenger connected on three shots from behind the arc on her way to a 13-point effort in defeat for Buckeye Blast. This earned Green Dream an opportunity to match up with top seeded OABGC in the semifinals. Ramey Piatt hit two three pointers and scored a game high eight points to keep Green Dream in the game, but Kenzy Mosley and Gemma Bocelli both matched her eight points to lead a balanced attack for OABGC. OABGC secured their championship game berth with a 23-13 victory.

On the other side of the bracket, The Littles withstood a spirited effort from Wooster Basketball Club. After going back and forth throughout the game, The Littles were able to pull away for a 27-17 victory and advance to the championship round. Emma Crumbley used her combination of skills and strength as she exploded for a game high 14 points to lead The Littles, while Leana Wright scored seven points to lead a balanced attack for Wooster Basketball Club.

After a Kinzi Fedevich mid range jumper gave The Littles an early 2-0 lead to start the championship game, OABGC responded with a 15-2 run to assume full control of the game. Neia Kay (11 points) was attacking from the outside, while Gemma Bocelli (14 points) continued her tournament long assault on the basket in the paint. Led by Stella Griffin’s 10 points, The Littles tried to fight their way back into the game, but the closest they were able to get was the 27-20 final margin.
